We spent our New Year's worrying and praying for our friend Pauline, who had a baby girl on December 26th, then went into septic shock from an infection just a few days later. After several very tense days for her family and friends, she is now doing much better, has been released from the ICU, and has started down the long road to recovery. Our thoughts are with her and her family right now.
Happy New Year, everyone!
I will be back soon with some sewing updates and maybe even a 2011 retrospective or two.
Oh, that must have been such a worrying time! How awful, but good to know your friend is out of danger. I hope the New Year is good to her and her family! (And you!)
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry about Pauline's illness! Glad to know she's improving... but coming home to a newborn isn't the most restful. Hopefully she has a lot of help. I'll be praying for her.
ReplyDeleteThanks to you both! Pauline still has quite a bit of recovering to do before she can leave the hospital, unfortunately, so the whole family is going to need a lot of help until she's completely mended.
ReplyDeleteBut if we've learned one thing this weekend, it is that this little family is LOVED. I'm sure there will be a lot of people pitching in.
Oh, how scary! Here's to her being healthy and home with her new baby soon!
ReplyDeleteOh thank God! I used to work in an ICU and saw some awful things in regard to sepsis. I am so, soooo, soooooooooo happy for your friend. Let's all just take a moment to thank everything that ever lived that she is on the mend.
ReplyDeleteYes, her recovery was nothing short of miraculous, really. We continue to be amazed by how strong she is. Heard yesterday she is moving around a bit and pumping milk for her baby! Will wonders never cease! :-)
