Six Months!

Only 13 days late ... Maggie is six (and a half) months old now!

Six months!

Baby girl is chubby, goofy, toothy, and on the move!

Six months!

She isn't quite sitting up on her own yet, but she's working on it. She has also developed her own form of locomotion - she arches her back and scoots around like a freakish inchworm. Like this. It's pretty funny.

Back bend.

Yes, that's another pair of oliver + s Nature Walk pants I whipped up for this photo shoot. I decided to do a constrast waist on these. Once I saw them on, I got a sudden urge to make her a Wonder Woman pair, with blue and white stars on the bottom and a gold lamé waistband. Can't you just see it?

Like the Wonder Baby that she is, she also does push-ups and scoots around on her belly.

Nature walk pants.

Most (but not all) of her darker hair fell out, and soft, light brown hair is growing in. She has four teeth now - two on top and two on the bottom. Can you see her little top teeth? There's a little gap between them. Like a baby Lauren Hutton. It's pretty much the cutest thing you ever did see. But watch out! Those puppies are sharp! And if you're not paying attention, she will bite you.  With a smile on her face, of course.

Smile, with four teeth.

Those super adorable teeth are also the reason we don't sleep much anymore. Maggie is currently going through the "won't-sleep-except-with-a-boob-in-her-mouth" phase. It's very snuggly, but a bit tiring, as you can imagine. I keep telling myself that at least my early-teething babies get the whole teeth thing over with quickly. "Two-year-old molars" come in at 16 months in our family. So there's that to look forward to, right? Yawn.

We are just starting to try some baby-led solids now. So far, Maggie loves lardy refried beans and hates strained peas. (She's no fool.)

Last time she was weighed, Maggie was just shy of 17 pounds and 26 inches long. That puts her solidly in the 60th percentile. So she's a lot smaller than Joe was at this age, which is great! Our arms are so grateful! Especially since we have to carry her around most of the day, because hanging out on the floor with her toys is boring. Obviously.

Love ya, Sweet Cheeks Maggie Magoo.

Six months!

  1. She is so so cute Inder. I hope your new job is going well and you're getting lots of time to have fun with your family. Love the choice of colours for the pants.

  2. Gorgeous! Especially the freakish inchworm thing - she looks so thrilled about it :D
In those pants she looks like she's getting ready to represent Australia at the Olympics. Gymnastic floorwork perhaps?

  5. It's so crazy how different they are at the exact same age! Edison has NO teeth, AT ALL. She was teething pretty crazy about a month ago but nothing came through :) We have started BLW with her too ^_^ So far she has only had banana and avocado because I am slack and need to get onto it. She loves both!

Edison sits up, she's been sitting for a long time, but Vin sat at 5 months too so maybe it's just *them*, although at this age Vince had his two bottom toothy pegs!

Eddie started going pretty bald there for a while, just had a mohawk on top & a mullet at the back, but now it's all growing out quite nicely :) When she wakes up she has bed hair ahah.

i need to take her 6 month photos... asap...

    1. I've been saying she doesn't sit up independently because she's always arching her back, which makes her fall down! I think Joe was a little late to sit up as well, although we attributed that to his ginormousness (Maggie's not nearly as giantly fat as he was). They are all so different!

  6. Such a gorgeous, chubby, happy baby! I'm loving the inchworm technique... So original! Can you post video? It's also fun to see how she is growing in relation to her quilt.

    1. I tried to get some video of it last night, but lo and behold, Maggie decided to roll over and start scooting around that way! YIKES! Now I can't say "She's just how I like my babies: cute, chubby, and immobile ... "

  7. You've got to make the Wonder Woman pants Inder!! I can just picture it ;-) We had the opposite with teeth here - ours get the first tooth really late at around 12 months. When the molars come in we're well into the tantrums anyway so it all rolls into one! Not sure if that's easier or harder! Hang in there with the constant feeds - it will ease.

  8. she is soo cute and she's changed so much, too! oh, my babe's an all night nurser too. between teething and colds, it's been ages since i've had a good night's sleep. i didn't mind for a long time, but now she's 15 mo old and boy, it sure would be nice if she started sleeping for longer stretches... i night weaned my other two at 18 mo - so we will see.
