Yeah. Ew. What the fuck. Uncle.
These are the moments when I'm like, "Oh, shit, we better call the landlord."
"Wait. Oh crap. We are the landlord."
This is the American dream, right? Good times!
But hey, look what I made this past weekend! An outfit for the Magpie!
Isn't she the sweetest? As you know, Maggie is on a major pink kick right now. Everything must be pink. Every. Single. Item. Of. Clothing. Including socks. It's pretty intense. Our days are currently punctuated with shrieks of "NO!!!! PINK!" Heaven forbid you should offer this girl blue socks. Unhappy Maggie, forced to wear blue socks, is not the sweetest.
But Maggie in a cute new 2+2 Top made from Heather Ross frogs and green chambray and pink Playtime Leggings seems pretty darn happy and sweet. Until something meets with her displeasure, anyway. This expression cracks me up! I like to think she gets this "looking daggers" expression from her mother.
I've made the 2+2 top once before, earlier this year, and honestly Maggie hasn't grown much since then. I made this top in the 12-18 month size, with about an inch of extra length for my 28 month old little girl. She's petite, and she loves pink, but don't be fooled: this girl can keep up with 5 year olds on the playground. She has no fear!
Maggie loved this fabric and chose it at the fabric store:
"Pink! FROG!" she squealed in delight as I carried the fabric to the cutting table.
I found some pretty pink buttons for the back, and whipped up a quick pair of Playtime Leggings in rosy pink knit to complete the outfit. I think she liked it!
Cheese!
Oh she is cute! (and a pretty fierce death frown there too!)
ReplyDeleteNice sewing mum!
She is such a dolly - and pink does suit her ;-)
ReplyDeleteSeriously cute outfit too - what's not to like about the pink frog combo?
Love her expressions! I to am only partially on the KCW train, but that's normal for me! Good luck with the house stuff!
ReplyDeleteI'm crying uncle from the CUTENESS. We had that roots in the pipes problem just last week: my condolences to you!
ReplyDeleteMay I eat her up please? Ack... house problems... yeah... I feel you there :(
ReplyDeleteCheese? Oh yes please!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous.
We have no water and Summer has not even started....
Sorry to hear about the burst pipes but glad you ended on a positive note, your daughter is too adorable, those curls and cute pink + frog handmade outfit! We unfortunately have a few house stories of our own. I think the one that takes the cake for us is while we were at work all day my husband came home and opened the front door and water poured out - the hose burst on the dishwasher and just poured out all day pretty much flooded 3/4 of our home - ugh!
ReplyDeleteAdorable! Love the 2+2 top! Sorry for the rough go of it you've been having. I've given up on formally participating in KCW. Seems like something always goes wrong and then I stress over not being able to sew. Though, I did manage a bit this time...;)
ReplyDeleteOh dear- sorry about the meeting and the pipes! House issues are some of my least favorite things. But the outfit is darling! I love that 2+2 pattern. Just wish it didn't have all those buttons- a pain to sew and not suitable for preschool where E needs to be able to dress/undress herself. Darn!
ReplyDeleteShe's so gorgeous Inder! And her mum is pretty talented too! I know what you mean with KCW, the will is there but not the time :-( Oh and also I wanted to reassure you that, from my experience with my girls, the pink phase does eventually fade away, even though its probably hard to imagine at the moment!!! Hang in there :-)
ReplyDeleteMy gosh she is adorable, this reminds me I need to pull this one out again. Sorry about the house troubles, sometimes owning a house sucks balls.
ReplyDeleteWow but she really gave you a lot of great shots for this post! I just love the outfit! Once again, there are so many similarities between your kids and mine. Zoe also is so tiny. At 19 months she still has one pair of 9 month jeans in her rotation. Between 15 and 18 month well-checks she simply didn't gain weight...still hovering at 20 lbs. Yet there is nothing she won't try on the playground...proudly swings on the big kid swings and scales ladders and basically gives me a few white hairs at every visit.
